Obituary for Peter Bernard Galvano

Peter Bernard Galvano, 49, of Pensacola, went to be with his Heavenly Father, Saturday morning, October 5, 2019. He was born March 9, 1970 in Bradenton, Florida, to the late Philip S. Galvano and Elizabeth “Betty” (Biggers) Galvano. He was the next to the youngest of six children.

Pete grew up in the Bradenton and Sebring, Florida, areas and graduated from Sebring High School. He received an Associate’s degree from Florida SouthWestern State College (formerly Edison State College). He was a Class A PGA golf professional and played competitively. He was a Kenpo Karate instructor and he owned and operated the Guardian Kenpo Karate School. He loved working with his students and they were like family to him. In addition, he was a talented artist and painted murals for businesses and churches. He loved boating, fishing and had a very generous nature. Everything he did, he did it to perfection.

Preceding him in death were his father, Philip S. Galvano and nephew Philip R. Galvano.

Pete is survived by his wife, Karrie, of the home; his mother, Betty Galvano of Fort Myers, FL; three brothers, Phil Galvano (Markee) of Wisconsin Dells, WI, Bill Galvano (Julie) of Bradenton, FL, and Richard Galvano of Fort Myers, FL, and two sisters, Liz Harshbarger (Jeff) of Umatilla, FL, and Mary Bajohr (Jonathan) of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by five step-children, Jene’ Haas (Jarrod) of Topeka, KS, Brett Giefer (Kayla) of Parsons, KS, Brandon Giefer (Kristen) of Andover, KS, Brice Lamb (Cortney) of Parsons, KS, and Breah Schibi (Jeff) of Parsons, KS. Pete adored his thirteen grandchildren, Mason Haas, Parker Haas, Michael Giefer, Eli Giefer, Nate Giefer, Kortland Lamb, Karson Lamb, Madalynn Lamb, Chelsea Jarman, Caleb Jarman, Matthew Jarman, Jerynn Schibi, JJ Schibi; and his eight nieces and nephews, Michael Galvano, William Galvano, Jaqueline Galvano, Olivia Galvano, Leo Galvano, Abigail Bajohr, Willy Deppe, and Johnny Deppe. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins and the entire Kenpo Karate Family.

Services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (34290 US Highway 98, Lillian, AL 36549). A Rosary service at 10:30 a.m.; followed by Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Father James Singarayar.

The family requests memorial donations be made, in Peter’s name, to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105) or to the Wounded Warrior Project (P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.)
