Gerald E. “Jerry” Weeks of Mary Esther, Florida, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019.
Jerry graduated in 1952 from Anadarko High School in Anadarko, Oklahoma. At 17 years of age, he joined the Oklahoma National Guard, and at age 18, he joined the Air Force and was assigned to Life Support. He retired from the Air Force in 1975. He then attended culinary school, graduating and receiving his degree in 1977. A “Jack of All Trades”, he dug and dredged a pond in Wynn Haven Beach, Florida. He met and married the girl of his dreams, Ethel Paschall in 1978. He and his bride then relocated to Anadarko, Oklahoma, where he purchased, remodeled and sold homes. He returned to Florida in 1989 and entered Civil Service working once again in Life Support for the Air Force at Eglin AFB, Flroida. After retiring from Civil Service in 1999, he and his wife, Ethel, hit the road traveling all over the country enjoying the sights and each other.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Neva Redin; his father, Bryan Weeks; and his brother, Ralph Redin.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Ethel Weeks; sons, Jimmy Weeks, Bryan Weeks, Sean Davis and Brandon Whish; eleven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Lewis Funeral Home, Navarre Chapel (7794 Navarre Parkway, Navarre, Florida 32566).
