Obituary

Gilmer Webster Davis, 83, of Navarre, Florida, passed away, Sunday, August 4, 2019.

Gilmer was a native of Lexington, North Carolina, and was the last of fourteen children born to the late Arnold and Mattie Davis. He was a graduate of Columbus College and a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. He was a retired Department of Defense employee, with 39 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marcia Davis; son, Gilmer Webster Davis, Jr., and daughter Chandra Edwards.

Gilmer is survived by his wife of 50 years, Florine Davis of Navarre, Florida; a daughter, Sharon Davis-McMillian, of Indianapolis, Indiana; son, Willie Davis, of Indianapolis, Indiana; son, Kevin Davis, of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughter, Lakrona Ikejani, of Florida; daughter, Faith Davis, of Indianapolis, Indiana; son, Cedric Davis, of Sagamihara, Japan; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Gilmer Webster Davis will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Lewis Funeral Home, Navarre Chapel. Burial will follow the services in Beal Cemetery, Ft. Walton Beach, with Military Honors and Lewis Funeral Home of Navarre directing.

Visitation will be held 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m., prior to the service.

The Family wishes to thank the staff of Navarre Gardens Assisted Living and VITAS Hospice for the love and care given to our father, during his time of illness.
