Donald Lee Gabriel, 78, of Milton, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019.
Donald was a native of Clarksburg, West Virginia, and was the second of three children born to the late James and Mary Gabriel. He was a graduate of Victory High School and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was in the Navy and Air Force, retiring after 20 years of service to our country. He also worked at Western Union, GTE, as a Gautier Police Officer, and as a security guard for the Grand Casino. He was of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Gabriel; and a son, Richard Leroy Gabriel.
Donald is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary “Faye” Gill Gabriel, of Milton, Florida; son, James “Jimmy” Gabriel, of Jessup, Maryland; son, Donald “Don” Gabriel II, of Federalsburg, Maryland; daughter, Karen Decoronado, of Biloxi, Mississippi; daughter, Donna Rageur, of Slidell, Louisiana; son, Steven Andrews; and son, Jerry Andrews. He is also survived by four grandsons, Donald Gabriel III, Richard Gabriel Jr., James Gabriel Jr. and David Rageur; eleven granddaughters, Shanda Gabriel, Sommer Dauzat, Michelle Oliver, Shannon, Cassie, Kimberly, Marjorie, Tina, Patricia, Deeona and Shawnbree; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, with Rev. Mike Poston officiating.
Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., prior to the service.
A private burial will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery, onboard Pensacola Naval Air Station.
