After serving his country in the military, my Uncle Charles served his family and community. With only 14 years difference in age, he was more like a cousin than an uncle . He was a great role model, taking me to County League baseball games throughout Santa Rosa and serving as a pillar of a dynamic First Baptist Church of Bagdad during the tenure of Brother Dan Raley, instrumental in building the present sanctuary. He and Gloria were my next door neighbors for more than 30 years, quiet, but dependable as neighbors should be. As a surveyor, he assisted his brother, J.W. Cook to plot the many boundaries of the County and helped set boundaries for nieces Elaine Cook Willis, Barbara Crawford Scales, Jean and Linda Crawford and nephews Billy Cook and me. May he Rest in Peace.
